Introducing the band

Alan Bond & Skedaddle is a new San Francisco Bay Area band featuring a mix of original songs, bluegrass, and old-time. Styling themselves a “California Cosmic String Band,” they offer a distinct approach to new and traditional material with topics that range from vintage cowboy to galactic insight.

Alan Bond (mandolin, guitar, vocals) has played with many bands, including acoustic bands Oakum, Dark Hollow, and Savage Bond, and indie rock band Michael Van and the Movers. Alan has written many great songs that have seeded AB&S’s rapidly crystallizing repertoire.

Judy Forrest (guitar, vocals) founded trad trio No Hiding Place and has played in various Bay Area formations over the years.

Tom Lucas (banjo, fiddle, vocals) has played with many bands, including Savage Bond, the Earl Brothers, the Crooked Jades and No Hiding Place. He also writes songs, albeit very slowly.

Bruce “the groove is the thing” Lacey (bass, vocals) has played with many bands including Rank Strangers and Blue Plate Special in Southern California, and One Button Suit, Brilliant Bluegrass, Barwick & Seigfried, West 45 and Lickety Split in the North.
